Lot Description

125.5 grains. Really a lovely piece, boldly defined overall with warm chocolate brown toning. The bottom of the effigy's bust rests on the lower obverse border, a trace of denticulation is present at upper left on that side, reverse better centered, if devoid of denticulation. A loupe is required to discern minor roughness in the planchet, there are no significant marks, and the texture is frosty with some nice gloss. This is the early state of the variety, without any trace of the die break at lower right reverse.
