Description du lot
C-13, Br-10. One of the most common half cent die marriages, and thanks to a small hoard of brown uncirculated pieces (perhaps this is one), this is an available date for type purposes. Truly new, with no wear on the high points. We note some flatness of strike in the central obverse details, but the definition overall is very pleasing. Good hard copper surfaces show no evidence of pitting or other environmental issues that are too common on early copper. Rich chocolate brown with auburn and olive tones. PCGS 8, NGC 7. The last PCGS graded example to sell in auction realized $1,438 way back in in October 2009, and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $1,900. Pleasing early copper is always popular and in mint state, always in demand from collectors. Cert. Number 8739315 PCGS # 1063
