- Sheffield Collection. Mintage: 6764. 49 graded AU-55, 36 higher at NGC. Between them, the services have certainly graded no more than ten mint-state examples, discarding regrades and crossovers. This puts intense pressure on finer about-uncirculated examples, of which this is hands-down a contender. Extensive luster shimmers across each side, even teasing a hint of flash in protected areas. It also appears to be an unusually original example given crumbles if grunge worked into the details. A fabulous strike helps to explain how the coin has sustained such bold luster despite five points of wear, and even a plentiful number of minute abrasions cannot erase all of the cartwheel effect.
