- 1871 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. MS-64 (NGC).
Handsome pewter to dove-gray throughout over satiny luster. Golden-russet accents the devices and enhance the eye appeal. The strike is sharp throughout, including Liberty's hair curls and all of the eagle's feathers and talons. Satin smooth surfaces that reveal little evidence of handling, rather impressive for a silver dollar sized coin of this design. One of the finer examples seen and worthy of strong consideration. NGC Census: 37; 6 finer (MS-66 finest) in all designations.
