Lot 684 1854-O. NGC graded MS-63.Some mint luster visible with a mix of lovely light gold toning on both sides. This is a plentiful issue for this time period, and always in demand for the New Orleans mintmark. However, where this particular coin stands really tall is in its majestic grade of Choice BU MS-63. This is one of the absolute finest known of this date and mint. Only 10 or so can claim to be fully Mint State, but in Choice this coin is one of the finest seen. The strike is sharp enough and the surfaces are far nicer than usually encountered. A tremendous example for the date and mint specialist.
