Lot Description
1876-CC Liberty Seated Dime. Type I Reverse. Doubled Die Reverse. MS-66 (NGC). Frosty and boldly lustrous golden gray with lively blue, peach, and rose toning throughout. Type I reverse with the E of ONE nearly touching the adjacent wreath. From a doubled die reverse that most resembles Fortin-117 and Fortin-128, though no die crack is seen at the CC mintmark; the doubling is plainest at the E of ONE, and at the D and E in DIME, particularly at the Es. The finest certified within those deemed Type I Reverse by NGC. A gorgeous Gem in all regards. PCGS# 4680. NGC Census: 1; none finer within the Type I designation. Other pieces may have gone through the NGC grading process without notation as to reverse variety.
