1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 56-n, W-5310. Rarity-1. No Sprig Above Plow, Camel Head--Overstruck on a 1788 Connecticut Copper, Miller 4.2-R--VF-25 (PCGS). Choice, glossy dark olive-brown. The surfaces are smooth and free from distracting marks and flaws. An interesting piece struck over a very rare 1788 Connecticut variety with the entire AUCTORI visible at the right obverse border including the distinctive star following the legend and portions of the Mailed Bust Right effigy's detail visible as well. The I of INDE and the star preceding it, as well as clash marks from the Connecticut are seen on the New Jersey reverse at 5 o'clock. PCGS# 767837. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
