1842 Liberty Quarter Eagle. EF-45 (PCGS). Deep yellow-gold with orange-gold highlights. Evenly worn but not noticeably marked to the naked eye. One of just 2,823 examples of the date struck, making for a rare date in any grade. Indeed, PCGS suggests that just 50 to 60 examples of the date can be accounted for today -- they have certified just a solitary example of the date in Mint State. Choice for the grade.
