Lot Description

1846 Liberty Quarter Eagle. MS-60 (NGC). An astonishingly well produced 1846 quarter eagle, with pinpoint definition on the dentils and central devices. Strong satiny luster shines from the yellow-gold surfaces, with only minute marks and trivial hairlines. A notable rarity in high grades, this issue has seen only 30 grading events at the two major services combined (20 at NGC, and 10 at PCGS), with at least some of those "events" sure to be resubmissions in pursuit of upgrades.
