Lot Description

1854-S Liberty Head Double Eagle. EF-45 (PCGS). CAC. The 1854-S Liberty is a perennial favorite among collectors of mint marked gold. The orange gold surfaces of the present specimen are obviously original and the devices are boldly defined in the presence of only light wear. Plenty of original luster is readily apparent as well, especially as the coin is rotated under a light. Provenance: From the Fairmont Collection. PCGS# 8913. NGC ID: 268U.
