Lot Description

Ex Don Frederick.  Frederick provenance noted on label.  This is the somewhat scarce prime die state, without the familiar die lump adjoining the left wing.  (Herrman’s AMBPR suggests an R.3 rarity rating.)  Soft luster rises from the naturally toned surfaces, stronger on the reverse.  Dr. Link prevailed at the April 2010 Heritage sale of the Frederick Collection, lot 2941 at $805.  Frederick’s storage envelope and personal notes accompany the lot.   Estimate: $450 to $600
