Lot Description
1899 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-67 * Cameo (NGC). At a glance one can see why the present coin earned the coveted star for eye appeal from NGC, the radiant mint presence is unmistakable with the ample white frost on the devices and lettering, while the mirror fields fall away with their depth of reflectivity. Toned around the perimeter with dusky-gold hues that frame the frosty brilliance. Furthermore, the surfaces are pristine, lacking any distracting marks or hairlines. From the original mintage of 846 pieces, the present coin is undoubtedly in the top 20 of those that survive, and with this degree of stunning appeal as well as technically superb surfaces, few of those 20 can compete with the present offering. An elegant and dramatic Proof that will long be cherished by any numismatist.
