Losbeschreibung
Handsome autumn-brown patina with blended olive-gray in the fields and also engaging the high points. The surfaces are especially choice with a smooth, hard texture and no detracting blemishes apart from a few trivial handling marks that require magnification to discern. The borders lightly encroach upon the peripheral letters in a few places, more so on the reverse, but the strike is sharp overall and the entire design is fully appreciable. William Pitt was perhaps the foremost champion of American liberties in Parliament during the years before the American Revolution, and as a consequence was enormously popular in the colonies. At the assigned grade level, this is a superior representative of this Pitt token type.
