Losbeschreibung: 1847-C Liberty Quarter Eagle. Winter Variety 1 (8-F), the only known dies. MS-62 (NGC). <td />With a razor-sharp strike and freedom from worrisome abrasions, the importance of this coin for mintmarked gold type purposes cannot be overstated. For seldom do we offer Mint State survivors from the C-mint Quarter Eagle series, and most of those coins are from the 1847-C Liberty issue. Rich khaki-orange color evenly blankets both sides, the texture of which is satiny, if not particularly lustrous. Conditionally rare for both the issue and the type, and highly significant, as such.
