Lot Description

Warm, inviting, slightly speckled reddish-russet and olive patina is splashed on intensely lustrous satin surfaces. This is almost certainly a coin that was housed in an original Mint Set cardboard holder of issue for many years. Sharply struck and expertly preserved overall. Rick Tomaska's single-word comment about the 1956 in MS-67 FBL in the 2023 edition of his <em>Guide Book of Franklin & Kennedy Half Dollars</em> - "Rare" - confirms the significance of this offering for the discerning Franklin half dollar collector.
