- Description du lot
- Beautiful autumn-brown patina with glints of olive-gray engaging the high points. The surfaces are especially choice with a smooth, hard texture and no detracting blemishes. The borders lightly encroach upon the peripheral letters in a few places, but the strike is sharp overall and the entire design is fully appreciable. William Pitt was perhaps the foremost champion of American liberties in Parliament during the years before the American Revolution, and as a consequence was enormously popular in the colonies. At the assigned grade level, this is an outstanding representative of this Pitt token type.
