Description du lot
1955 Lincoln Cent. FS-101. Doubled Die Obverse. MS-65 BN (NGC). CAC. Chocolate brown toning with vivid blue and rose highlights. A lovely example of what is probably the most popular mint error in the entire American series. The 1955 Doubled Die has been popular for decades, although it initially required a few years to capture the public's imagination. It made its Guide Book debut in the 1960 (13th) edition, and it has remained extremely popular ever since that time. Although a few thousand 1955 Doubled Dies have been certified over the years, only a few dozen have warranted a grade of MS-65, and hardly any are known above that level.
