Order Through Chaos Collection. Newcomb-2, late die state. Famous as the second rarest of the middle dates (1823 being rarer still), the 1821 is actually more common in proof format than as a mint-state, and even an upper mid-grade example like this proves to be highly elusive among competitive early copper enthusiasts. Attribution between the two die-marriages is a cinch since the inner circle for the obverse shows plainly for this mahogany and steely-brown representative.
