Jody Harrison Collection. Bass-Dannreuther-3 (R.5+). 40 graded MS-62, 42 higher at NGC. Clash marks on the reverse suggest die-state "e", and various references suggest this to be the terminal use of the reverse die due to all the clashing. Nevertheless, noticeable reflectivity in the fields shows that the dies were repolished at some point prior to striking. While graded "only" MS-62, this is an impressive example that retains traces of golden toning within the somewhat reflective fields. As usual, the flashy texture succumbs to delicate hairlines that likely determine the grade, but nobody will complain about very good delineation of Liberty's hair tresses despite several light adjustment marks.
