Lot Description

1900 Barber Half Dollar. Proof-65 Cameo (PCGS). An otherwise untoned obverse is ringed in iridescent orange-copper peripheral toning, while for the reverse we note an even endowment of light silver patina. Both sides are fully struck with bold field to device contrast readily evident as the surfaces rotate under a light. A large size coin with delicate surfaces, Proof Barber half dollars as a group are scarce in Proof-65 and rare any finer. PCGS# 86547. NGC ID: 24P4. Provenance: From the Alexander Collection.
