- Lot Description
- Manley Die State 3.0. Glints of crimson and olive accent toning in blended medium brown and steely-copper. Some light carbon on the obverse engages the ribbon ends at the back of Liberty's head, and a faint horizontal scratch on the reverse above the letters ENT in CENT is also noted for accuracy. Central detail is bold for the grade, the borders typically soft for the die state.
The variety is attributed to the Mint's half cent delivery of September 29, 1804 (per Bill Eckberg, 2019), and it is the most common of the Crosslet 4, Stems to Wreath Guide Book variety. This is a handsome AU example that will do equally well in a high grade circulated type or date set.
