Splendid golden-orange surfaces with a mild cameo contrast between satiny devices and subtly mirrored fields. Fully struck, expertly preserved and a delight to behold, only the strongest bids will be competitive for this gorgeous Gem example. The Philadelphia Mint's Centennial year gold dollar issue has a limited mintage of 3,200 circulation strikes. Unlike most later date low mintage issues in this series, the 1876 was not widely saved by contemporary numismatists, survivors scarce to rare in all grades. This is a particularly attractive example that is sure to please even the most discerning gold enthusiast.<p>
