Lot Description

Lustrous medium lilac-silver surfaces are accentuated by cerulean-blue to sea-green at the peripheries. Sharply struck with strong eye appeal and surface quality at the Gem level.<p>The 1878-CC dime represents the final coinage for the denomination at the Carson City Mint. Its mintage of a scant 200,000 pieces -- down 7.5 million coins from the previous year's tally -- is modest for the era, and also represents the final branch mint coinage in the denomination until the 1884-S issue. Housed in a PCGS Old Green Holder and paired with a green CAC sticker, this is certainly an appealing Liberty Seated dime from the ever-popular Carson City Mint.
