Description du lot
Ex Eliasberg. A GEM example of this Classic Proof Only rarity. The B-3, G-2 Small Berries reverse is from the Second Restrike period, rated as Rarity-6. About 15-18 are known in all grades, this one ranks among the FINEST certified by either service. Incredibly reflective, glassy fields beam boldly from below a blend of dappled iridescent toning. Coppery-gold, mingles with shades of blue, violet, and underlying mint. The devices are sharply struck and the dramatic obverse die crack is seen. The eye appeal is quite intriguing. We cannot find a record of this coin selling since the May 1996 Bowers & Merena Eliasberg sale, where it appeared as lot 455. PCGS 0, NGC 1. This is a tough coin to value. Stack's Bowers sold an NGC PR66 BN example in August 2020 for $8,100, this coin should bring more. The Collectors Universe values are highly influenced by the extremely strong prices the examples from the Missouri Cabinet and Jim McGuigan Collections brought. Take a look at this GEM and bid accordingly. Cert. Number 623271001 PCGS # 1258
