A dramatic GEM Proof with such bold cameo contrast, at first glance you might confuse it for a DCAM. The eye appeal is VERY high end! Ravishing, deep and beaming mirrors have an icy blast of flash that is nearly blinding. The devices are well struck and frosted giving the design elements a nice white look that contrasts amazingly against the black flashy mirrors in the fields. Totally untoned, this beauty looks as fresh and stunning as the day it was struck. Only 813 Proofs were struck. PCGS 24, NGC 8, CAC 9. The most recent example to sell in auction was a non-CAC NGC coin that sold in a September 2018 auction for $2,280. Prior to that, we sold a PCGS/CAC coin that was toned for $2,468 in our January 2018 Regency Auction. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $2,750 and this date is very RARE any finer.
