1868 Liberty Head Double Eagle. AU-55 (PCGS). Subtle pinkish-rose highlights enliven otherwise dominant honey-gold patina on both sides of this lustrous and original example. A low mintage issue for its era that is rare in all Mint State grades, the 1868 represents a significant find for the specialist at the Choice AU level.
