Lot Description
This GEM Mint State N-9 is identified by the die flaw above the ear, giving it the "knob". This sharply struck coin has a bold, satiny frost with much surviving mint red. Nicely struck up with full details, save for some parts of the obverse periphery. This GEM graced the collection of one of the "grande dames" of numismatics, the late Catherine Bullowa-Moore. Catherine's late husband David Bullowa was a coin dealer in the 1930s to the 1950s, when he passed. She took over the business, and continued it until her passing last year. PCGS 7, NGC 0, CAC 5. A non-CAC example (ex Naftzger) sold in March 2017 for $4,935. The current PCGS price is $5,500 and this is VERY RARE finer. This coin is worthy of a very high end collection of late date large cents. Good luck! Cert. Number 34519276 PCGS # 1914
