1760 Hibernia-Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 14-L, Nelson-11, W-13960. Rarity-4. P Below Bust. AU-50. 140.3 grains. Glossy medium brown with superb eye appeal, well struck on a broad planchet. Regular and fine natural pitting, not really granularity, is seen under a glass, as struck. A vertical linear area in the right obverse field appears a bit smoother than fields surrounding it -- perhaps a repaired scratch? Short scratch under first P of POPULI, no other problems deserve mention. Sharpness and eye appeal similar to that of the excellent Earle-Ryder-Ford and Norweb specimens. A premium quality example.
