Tompkins Die Stage 2/1, R3a et al. Die State P. Pale pewter gray and dusky-gold patina greets the viewer from both sides. A bit muted in appearance to suggest an old, light cleaning, yet relatively smooth during in-hand viewing, and with faint traces of mint frost persisting. The scarcity and conditionally challenged nature of this early quarter type will certainly result in keen interest for this NGC-certified Choice AU 1818.
