- Mick Matters Collection. Mintage: 18,992. Although considered rather scarce in mint-state grades, the 1840-C is not excessively rare at the circulated level, although this is a nicely delineated example graded VF-35. Pleasant khaki-gold patina stretches over smooth, honest wear to provide a nice vintage appearance, augmented by darker traces of tone within the design crevices.
