Lot Description
1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. BB-21, B-1. Rarity-2. Two Leaves. Fine-15 (PCGS). Predominantly olive-charcoal surfaces reveal outstanding undertones of vivid cobalt blue, antique gold and salmon pink iridescence as the coin dips into a light. Well balanced for the assigned grade, both sides retain bold outline definition to all major design elements, as well as full border denticulation. With faint remnants of original luster also very much in evidence, it is difficult for us to imagine a more inviting Flowing Hair dollar at the Fine grade level. BB-1 is the most readily obtainable die marriage of the Two Leaves Guide Bookvariety of the 1795, the issue as a whole immensely popular for type purposes given the rarity of the first year 1794 silver dollar. PCGS# 39986. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
