- VAM-4 has the "Reverse of 1878" for which the eagle has a rounded breast and the anatomically incongruous seven tail feathers. This is a flat-out nice example at MS-63 if only because blatant textile toning shows on the reverse, plainly the result of long-term canvas bag storage. Many collectors recognize how close to "truly original" such toning places a coin and will actively seek out such unmolested pieces. Peach-grey toning also decorates the obverse left field.
