Losbeschreibung: This is a Condition Census level example of this scarce and popular variety. The engraver incorrectly placed the date punch the first time around, the punch was placed 180 degrees from its proper alignment. Catching the error, the punch was turned around and punched over the first incorrect placement. You can clearly see the first set of numerals under the date. RARE in this grade, and with just a few finer, this is a prize for the advanced Seated half dime collector. Frosty lustrous surfaces gleam from below a layer of beautiful iridescent patina. Well stuck and devoid of any serious issues, we are somewhat surprised CAC did not "approve" this one. The eye appeal is quite nice! PCGS 5, NGC 2. The most recent comp was a PCGS MS64 CAC at $5,280 in November 2017. No MS65 has sold since 2014. Clearly these do not appear with frequency. The current PCGS Price of $4,750 seems low to us.
