Lot Description

1870 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd-987, Pollock-1116. Rarity-6+. Proof-63 (PCGS). Secure Holder. Standard Silver design with Liberty facing right wearing a headband with a star, a scroll below, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above. The reverse has 50 CENTS in the center and is surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel with 1870 below and STANDARD SILVER above. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Lightly toned and sharply defined overall, a number of hairlines and tiny contact marks are noted on each side that serve to define the assigned grade.
