- 1798 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. Large Eagle. BB-112, B-15. Rarity-3. Die State IV. Pointed 9, Wide Date. EF-40 (NGC). This is the terminal state of the 1798 BB-112 marriage, one or both of the dies sinking to such an extent that not only are the centers softly struck, but the upper-left obverse and lower-left reverse peripheries are virtually devoid of detail. In terms of actual wear, however, we note only light rub that leaves the better-struck features with some bolder definition. Warmly and evenly patinated with a blanket of lavender-gray toning to both sides.
