Lot Description

This desirable example shows warm mahogany-brown patina overall with suggestions of olive-gold tinting that are most pronounced at central obverse. The strike is drawn toward the viewer's right on both sides, right borders more or less devoid of denticulation, rings at lower right reverse somewhat soft. Otherwise we note bold to sharp detail in the absence of all but light wear. There is a small area of planchet roughness (as made) on the ring at 1 o'clock on the reverse, but in general the surfaces are hard and satiny with a pleasingly smooth appearance.
