Lot Description

Ex D.L. Hansen Collection, as noted on the insert. A lovely, delicately toned PQ GEM example of this Civil War date. Sharply struck devices stand out against the flashy, reflective fields. The surfaces are blushed with a soft pastel lavender and golden copper-nickel color. A few minor flecks can be seen with the aid of a strong glass, but they do not detract much from the otherwise bold, GEM visual allure. PCGS 28, NGC 28, CAC 12. Only 550 Proofs were struck. Just four are graded higher at PCGS in the designation. The Collectors Universe value is $3,350 and the CAC CPG value is $3,750. A lovely coin that was once in the famed D.L.
