Lot Description
A very popular repunched mint mark variety, where the die was originally punched for Denver, then an S for San Francisco was punched over it; you can see the traces of the D in the curves of the S. This is tied for second HIGHEST graded and as expected, the quality is high end with a bold frosty, satin luster and sharply struck devices. The eye appeal is bold. PCGS 55, NGC 17, CAC 22. There are 13 in MS66+ and just 10 finer. None have sold in nearly three years and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $2,500. In a marginally finer MS67 holder, the value jumps to $10,000. If you are building a top notch set, this coin belongs in your set. Cert. Number 43577794 PCGS # 5845
