1864 Three-Dollar Gold Piece. MS-65 (PCGS). We welcome this "old friend" again, as it seems like only yesterday we offered it as part of the Harry W. Bass, Jr. Collection. Actually the time was 1999, but our memories are still vivid. The coin offers attractive color, sharp definition, and rich luster. Only 2,680 were struck, of which relatively few survive today, nearly all of those being in lower grades. The incredible condition of this combined with the Bass pedigree create a remarkable opportunity.
