Lot Description
1843 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-103. Repunched 4. MS-64 (NGC). If you are currently seeking a choice example of an early-date Liberty Seated half dollar design type, this exceptionally lovely and richly toned specimen may signal the end to your search. The deep and frosty steel-gray surfaces are alive with fiery electric blue, gold, and crimson on the obverse, with the reverse featuring even more of the same shades, all of which are seen to their best advantage in a bright light source. Among the finest grading events listed for the date by NGC, and significant as such. The strike is bold throughout with only a hint of weakness at the eagle's dexter talons. Slight repunching is seen on the crossbar of the 4 in the date. A physically sound and aesthetically pleasing coin that offers a one-two punch of quality and eye appeal.
