1886 Nickel Three-Cent Piece. Proof-67 (NGC). With delicate champagne-pink highlights to smartly impressed, expertly preserved surfaces, this gorgeous Superb Gem would do equally well in a high grade type or date set. Modest contrast between satiny devices and mirrored fields is also worthy of praise. Mintage: 4,290 Proofs, the only nickel three-cent pieces produced in 1886.
