Lot Description

BB Die State IV. Crusty old-toned surfaces show warm olive peripheral highlights around steel gray centers. Softness of strike at Liberty's bust affects the upper right star field on the reverse, but moderate wear is evenly distributed on features that retain considerable boldness in other areas. BB-160 is one of the most plentiful die marriages of the 1799-dated silver dollar issue, although it is still more elusive than BB-163 and BB-166. The offered coin would do nicely in a circulated type set.
