N-21/10. This die pair is double listed in Newcomb as he listed the early and late states separately (the late state, Grellman Die State c, as here have two reverse cuds). This is a brilliant example, with fiery RED luster that swirls boldly all over. The only thing keeping it from a higher grade are some delicate toning flecks, but these attest to the originality and have minimal impact on the eye appeal. PCGS 34, NGC 14, CAC 4. There are two in MS64+ RD at PCGS, and this one last sold in June 2014 for $2,233. Today, the PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $3,500.
