Lot Description
THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION, PART IV The present coin is fully Choice with a radiant satiny frost that provides a back light to the classic old collection soft pearly silver patina. Nicely struck on both the obverse and reverse, the eye appeal is very nice. A very scarce, lower mintage date with only 77,130 struck, and as more gold flowed from the California rush, the ratio of gold and silver in circulation forced the price of silver up, making it very profitable for folks to export silver coins to be melted into silver bullion. PCGS 22, NGC 8. The most recent example to sell in auction realized $4,080 in April 2022. RARE finer, PCGS has graded just a dozen finer. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $5,000. Take a good look at this example and bid accordingly. Cert. Number 81018413 PCGS # 6268
