1860 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Proof-64+ (PCGS). This delightful specimen exhibits splashes of cobalt blue and reddish-orange peripheral toning around golden-tinged centers. Fully struck with an overall brilliant finish from the dies, there is much to recommend this coin to the high quality type or date collector. With no more than 600 or so of the 1,000 coins struck actually distributed to contemporary collectors, the Proof 1860 half dollar is surprisingly scarce in today's market.
