1859 Liberty Head Eagle. AU-58 (PCGS). CAC. An originally preserved, thoroughly appealing eagle displaying a blend of deep honey-orange and more vivid pinkish-rose colors. Generally sharp striking detail to near-fully lustrous, satin to softly frosted surfaces. Although not a major rarity in circulated grades, the 1859 is always in demand among gold enthusiasts due to a limited mintage of 16,013 circulation strikes. With few Mint State survivors, this premium Choice AU is solidly in the Condition Census for the issue. Provenance: From the Fairmont Collection - CAG Set.
