Lot Description: Absolutely high end and wonderfully preserved GEM example of this date. Sharply struck and frosted standing out against the sleek, gleaming mirrored fields. The fields are intensely reflective and are essentially without flaw of any kind. Beautiful orange-gold patina clings to the periphery, framing the stunning quality coin. The eye appeal is exceptional, we do not see anything that should preclude CAC approval. We think they were being very tight on this one. Only 850 Proofs were struck. PCGS 2, NGC 0. This was the only one to sell in auction, where realized $14,688 in the 2016 ANA auction. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $22,500. There is just a single PR67+ CAM graded finer, a coin that has yet to appear in auction. This is likely as fine an example as you will ever have the chance to bid on anytime soon. Good luck! Cert.
