1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 73-aa. Rarity-4. Large Planchet, Plain Shield, Plaited Mane--Overstruck on an 1787 Connecticut Copper, Miller 37.8-HH--Fine-15 (PCGS). An intriguing balance of undertype and overtype effortlessly wavers across this wholesome early copper. Warm chocolate brown tones blend with pleasing chestnut and olive hues, with surfaces that remain smooth and well composed. The New Jersey design elements are uniformly bold and intricate at the right and central areas on both sides, with the Connecticut motifs becoming more apparent at the left peripheries.
