1823 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-111a. Rarity-2. MS-62 (PCGS). Somewhat speckled charcoal-gray patina is confined to the peripheries and the protected areas around the devices for this otherwise light silver example. Boldly struck with a lively satin to modestly semi-reflective finish. The Condition Census for this variety begins at the MS-63 level, the present offering just shy of that standing, but still conditionally scarce in an 1823 O-111/111a half dollar. PCGS# 39617.
