Lot Description
WHOA! This is an amazing, virtually PERFECT Mercury dime with an absolutely stunning look! Really it looks more like a 39-D than a 43-D. Razor sharp in strike, every detail is fully and crisply defined by an exacting and precise blow from the dies. The lustrous surfaces are pristine with no visible imperfections anywhere! Sprays of color, like a Jackson Pollock painting adorn both sides, offering wonderful red, violet, gold, orange and green hues that make the original silver areas appear more brilliant. The eye appeal truly is marvelous and is a beauty to behold! This is the PCGS CoinFacts Plate coin as well as being tied for FINEST graded! PCGS 3, NGC 3. The only example to ever sell was another toned beauty that was CAC approved and sold in our June 2015 Regency Auction for $12,925. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $12,000 based only on that single sale. The presently offered jewel should surpass that amount when the gavel finally falls! Good luck! Cert.
